Oriel Gallery
A digital gallery with room to look and context to explore.

The challenge
This fictional independent gallery wanted a generous viewing experience that also explained the people and processes behind each work. Small images and disconnected artist biographies were limiting that context.
Our approach
A quiet grid gives the artwork visual priority. Detailed work pages connect to artist profiles, exhibitions and a carefully written enquiry path without interrupting the viewing experience.
A practical outcome
The site brings works, artists and programmes into one reusable publishing structure. Responsive image layouts preserve the character of each piece while keeping navigation clear on a phone.
Artist and work relationships remain explicit in the publishing model, making it possible to build new exhibitions without duplicating biographies or artwork details.
Process highlights
- Agree the audience, the problem and the scope before choosing a visual direction.
- Test the structure with complete content and the important interaction states.
- Review the production result at desktop, tablet and phone sizes.
- Deliver an editable system with a documented next step.
